“Stepping Stones” is a cosy artists studio environment with individual cottage style bedrooms and great views across to St Michaels Mount. Outside of engaging with Oliver’s support, the location is perfect for exploring South and West Cornwall. There are many secluded coves and beaches nearby, including Prussia Cove (Ladies in Lavender), quirky Perranuthnoe, the family-friendly surfing beach at Praa Sands and historic Porthleven. Our ancient market town of Marazion is the gateway to the enchanting St Michaels Mount rising from the sea. Catch a ferry to the sub-tropical Isles of Scilly from Penzance, or visit it’s shops, harbour and marina. Maybe just stroll along the promenade, and see the open-air Lido. The busy fishing harbour of Newlyn, and the quaint village of Mousehole will lead onwards to adventure after adventure. Ideal for country lovers, you can walk the many footpaths or use the network of cycle paths if you are feeling energetic. – there is so much to see and do, you will need to come again to fit it all in!
B&B + 1 Hours Arts Tutorial
Enjoy B&B experience in a working artist’s home, while you take in the spectacular views and beautiful garden aspects overlooking St Michael’s Mount in the ancient market town of Marazion.
Every room at “Stepping Stones” has been carefully made to allow guests to feel welcome and relaxed, enabling you to enjoy that special away from home ‘treat’ in peaceful surroundings that are just 5 minutes away from the beach and coastal paths.
During your stay, you can exercise your creative skills with a one-hour art session booked for a time that suits you. More hours are available for booking if desired and please browse our website for some ideas of the type of art processes you would like to engage with. For those coming with children, there may well be additional fun creative workshops for them to enjoy.

Staying in the peaceful location of “Stepping Stones” with comfortable rooms to enjoy, a family art holiday is a truly unique opportunity to discover your perhaps hidden creative abilities as you create pieces of art that will hold many memories for years to come – it’s the added value of a holiday that is worth far more than money! There are lots of activities to choose from, which we can mix and match and tailor to your specific interests.
In the same way, full board cuisine can be made available as part of your holiday. We have lots of suggestions for family activities that are unable to be offered in a normal workshop situation (eg. Oliver can organise arts trails, art on the beach activities etc) so it is well worth having a chat to see what’s possible. The cost of these holidays can vary depending on the size of the party, and obviously the duration of stay.
